UK Travel on a Shoestring Budget
It’s natural to want to getting more bang for your buck when traveling. I’ve always been approached by friends from outside the UK when they plan their UK holiday. The commonest question I’ve encounter is, “Is it expensive to visit London?” to which the answer I never fail to provide is a resounding “NO”. Most people would think that London is an illustrious city, full of wonders and accessible only to richer tourists. Yes, London IS full of wonders but it is surprisingly affordable for travelers from all walks of life.
When it comes to accommodation, swanky hotels like The Ritz and the Savoy Hotel are naturally not within reach for those who are budget conscious, but they may opt for equally excellent places of accommodation such as The Mayflower Hotel, Fullers Hotel and even the quirky Hotel 167.
Key places that should go into your must-visit list are the Buckingham Palace and the Westminster Abbey. These places are worth visiting because they are at the heart of London itself. And when you tire of the historical spots and art galleries, you can take a stroll at the London Hyde Park and have a picnic after you visit the Diana Memorial Fountain.
