Spares

So I have just got back from three months of travelling around Europe. I did the standard tours of France, Spain, Italy and Germany as well as few more freaky deaky stop offs in Russia, Poland and Holland. During my time I got some absolutely amazing images that I’ll be uploading in the next few months or so, I also learnt quite a lot about being a travelling photographer. Rule number one obviously being, prepare for the worst.
If it can get lost, it will get lost. I’m talking about everything from a case or lens cap to the Camera Battery . Make sure that you have spares of everything, or if not spares, easy access to replacements. It’s best to perhaps source out any nearby shops that can stock you up immediately if you know that you will be doing some big shoots.
There other thing is to take more than one camera. Different cameras are better for different shots as we all know. Some are also more appropriate in different settings. For example when I was shooting around the Vatican my massive SLR would just not have been very respectful. Do you research and know your boundaries.
